Memorial Day - No Wifii

So some dudes I follow on twitter named Kevin Abstract and Romil put me onto to this via the fucking internet.
So there were a couple factors for me giving it a shot...
1) The makers of MTV1987 support it
2) That tweet reminded me that it's summer and that's a good thing
3) The following statement on their website (uhh click here to visit their site)
WE MADE THIS ALBUM IN A WEEK IN COHEN'S PARENTS GARAGE.  WE HATE COHEN'S PARENTS.  WE HATE OURSELVES.  THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS IS THE SUMMER.  HERE'S OUR ALBUM.

that is where you want to go to give it a listen.
I don't know why it made me think of when I started listening to Blink-182......
Just accept the fact that a group of kids product of the same youth producing rappers like Maxo Kream formed a band and made an album together.

I already sent the link to three different girls and asked them to listen to Dylan....

1) Flood
2) Im only alive when you text me
3) Drown me Out
4) Dylan
5) I wish I was dead.  I wish you were alive.

Shout out to GI, Cain, Milo and Cohen.  the fraction of the youth that make up the band NO WIFIII

naming a song Im only alive when you text me is the equivalent of when Kanye West said "We're all self conscious I'm just the first to admit it."

@kikegiraffe

Do what you want, Defy what you don't

and i low key have no idea who the fuck Brock Hampton is even though we had a convo on twitter one day about musicians and their money... over and out

interviews.... they provide answers

Me and Doug were at Sonic trying to pick up some of those slushies, you know the one with the nerds in em....when out of no where Johnny texted me "Surf just dropped"
It was true.
Our plans went from wasting our night away to finding a place to listen to the project we had been waiting for uncomfortably since one of those damn music blogs tweeted it was going to drop that very random finals week night.

questions:
WHY THE FUCK IS IT FREE?
What's the real message behind the cover?
Who are all these features?
One of the homies that joined in on the listening for a minute even asked "Who is Donnie Trumpet?"

Me and Doug later watched this interview seeking answers.... it answered a lot.  Check it out above.

Can we just acknowledge that the transition from Wanna be Cool to Windows may be one of the greatest one two punches our generation will ever see.
The messages go from "YOU JUST WANT TO BE ME" to "Don't you end up like me"

Don't trust a word I say

thank you Donnie Trumpet and the Social Experiment, THANK YOU

SURF Review

Chance the Rapper, along with Donnie Trumpet and their band, The Social Experiment, finally dropped the project everybody's been waiting for: Surf. Just based off my initial listen, it has the vibes of "Good Ass Intro" from Chance's highly-acclaimed mixtape, Acid Rap. But that's where the comparisons stop, because this project is totally different. Surf is a blend of hip-hop and the delightful jazz that you might have heard while watching a PBS show when you were little. Most of the production is primarily live instrumentation, creating a very authentic experience for listeners.

Surf has a variety of guests featured on the project; from established artists like J. Cole, Big Sean, and Erykah Badu to up-and-coming artists like Raury and Joey Purp. The most WEIRD (F you Johnny lol) guest feature came on the song "Familiar" when Quavo, one of the members of the rap trio, Migos, spit a very Migo-esque verse over a very jazzy beat. Surprisingly, he actually fit the song's vibe.

All in all, Surf was more of a project to showcase the talents of Donnie Trumpet and the Social Experiment than to serve as a sequel to Acid Rap. Many of the songs only had him doing a hook, while others didn't feature him at all. But he spit enough verses to leave any die-hard Chance fans satisfied. It's pretty difficult to give a lengthy review based off a few listens but I think it's safe to say that it was worth the wait. Go get it free on iTunes.

Stand-out tracks: "Warm Enough"; "Wanna Be Cool"; "Smthnthtiwnt"

Weird?

Yesterday one of my close friends called our website/twitter "weird." I know that this is something so small but it really got me thinking, what the hell is weird? I have been getting called "weird" since as long as I can remember without knowing why. I'm pretty sure that everyone that authors for this website has been called weird at one point or another in their lives, probably countless times.
So what's weird is the question.
The dictionary definitions is an adjective suggesting something supernatural; uncanny, as seen above in the picture.
So by dictionary definition hell yea .ecnaifeD is the weirdest, because we are absolutely out of this world, supernatural, ghostly, strange and otherworldly.
So I say thank you from now on to being called weird...

Lil B curse on James Harden

It is no secret now that Lil B cursed James Harden.  Unless you were in a cave somewhere far far away from any media.

Lets start with the first video.... way before James Harden was fitted for a Rockets jersey.
it explains everything
some of y'all think y'all have the knowledge needed to even talk about the subject.... watch the video

this is a music video from 2010, skip to 2:50 you'll see Lil B start cooking away
now I could see some Lil B haters saying this is no real platform to claim anything as yours.... the video has over 3 million views... fuck off.

So this flick of the wrist song came out in 2014.... cool sooo James Harden does seem like the type of dude that stays in the club and loves this kind of hype music CONNECTION MADE..... in his defense he probably wasn't aware that he was stealing Lil B's creation.

Here watch the video and tell me... does it not look like Chedda Da Connect is cooking just as Lil B did 4 years earlier.

Lil B did as anyone with his power would do and cursed James Harden during one of the most important playoff runs of his career.
check out the tweet below that officially cursed Harden
SAD SAD James Harden really should publicly apologize to the city of Houston and Lil B.  The thing is he isn't the only one responsible for mocking Lil B...... Steph Curry also known as Chef
Curry is too.  Ironic I know since they are currently competing against each other.

Justice was obviously served though.......

sooo if you have trouble believing that Lil B really has anything to with any of this check this out.
sooo Kevin Durant took to Twitter one random day and tweeted this
disrespectful I know.... Lil B responded with this song, video, and a curse

yes yes Lil B said "Fuck Kevin Durant" better yet he sung it.
Well this came our early 2014 the same year Kevin Durant won the MVP award.... you know "you the real MVP"
Sooo what happened next......
via SB NATION
the season after his MVP season.... the only explanation is the curse.
You simply can't just disrespect Lil B
James Harden and Stephen Curry obviously didn't learn from KD's mistake

I support Lil B but I'm hoping the rockets take a trip to the NBA finals as well.
BITCH MOB TASK FORCE
CLUTCH CITY

shout out to this dude that asked Lil B to uplift the curse

New Houston Youth

Maxo Kream x Maxo187 release date March 5th
Tyler the Creator x Cherry Bomb release date April 13th

I've been listening to Cherry Bomb for the past two days and finally realized why two parts of the album left me stumped.

Maxo Kream begins his song 1998 with a sample from "Shake your Booty" by Bunny Sigler.  Tyler the Creator begins his song Buffalo with the same sample.  I don't think it is a coincidence but evidence that Houston's youth is evolving because of the increased exposure the internet provides of other cultures.  My theory starts around 2011 when I was exposed to entirely new cultures, my good friend had already had me listening to Bastard and my brother had me hooked on Kid Cudi but things hadn't changed yet.  It was when I got my first iphone and suddenly the internet including social media was so accessible, I didn't have to be sitting on the computer in my living room to be consuming culture.   It was with the releases of projects like Goblin and Live Love A$AP that gave birth to the generation of followers to blind to realize how cool and unique everyone including themselves are.  The key to the theory is understanding the ability to take in so many cultures thanks to the internet is the reason for the unique creations and ambitions of the current youth.

As Ian Connor got on AssPizza for.... pay homage.  So maybe Maxo Kream and Playboy Carti are more A$AP Rocky then Tyler the Creator but something has just been eating at me...... I can't describe it but it's such a FLEX, I see so many kids not even understanding what they are supporting and half of em are trying to get a pice of the acclaimed earnings.  Not only has following killed our ability to create and be ourselves its taken the validity out of supporting.

.... i would continue to explain a theory of how it came to be but who cares.  Just enjoy the fact that these two completely different artists are some how influenced by the same things.  If anything let it encourage you to be yourself and express nothing more or less.
For the record Maxo Kream chopped up the sample he used.....

OFWGKTA.... KREAM CLICC

Childish Gambino said it best "Because the Internet"
I believe in learning from Intellectual conversations hit me up if you got a theory or something.

if anything enjoy the music

Chance the Rapper took to twitter two days ago to drop a new track.... Hiatus.

So some stupid ass blog tweeted out during finals week that Surf was supposedly dropping that random night.  Doug, the homie, had fully committed to not sleeping to ensure he was awake when Chance dropped it..... until I called my BS.  I had to call my BS after some "facts" twitter had done the same thing except for Gambino... claiming he had an album named After the Internet that was dropping on 4/20
NEITHER HAVE HAPPENED

some lyrics tweeted my the man himself

I kind of wonder if its like aaaaa..... snippet because its short af..... but some more classic chance to put in rotation.

FACES

So my homie brought this project from the ashes out of no where today!
Not like it should have ever been put out of rotation but it happened... after I learned Mike Jones entire verse on Uber though.... that shit was revolutionary.
we went in discussing what we hope to see from Mac Miller in 2015... the main conclusion was we have no IDEA, the dude been super low key
new Delusional Thomas, a mixtape, an album, maybe another random ass single WHO THE FUCK KNOWS

if you didn't get on his website and make a sandwich to download this hoe don't try and talk to me about it.... you a booji motherfucker

New Faces V2 is definitely my favorite.... if you don't know how Mac Miller closes out his verse then you are utterly lame

Skizzy Mars and Kyle

Sooooo i'm listening to Chance the Rapper on spotify a couple days ago, when they switch the music to suggested artist. I listen to the artist and I am bobbing my head like aye I kind of like this, so I look at the artist name and save it to my music. Right after this another artist plays and i'm feeling his music as well,

The first artist was Skizzy Mars a young MC from New York.
I listened to a few songs of his including: Do you there ft. Marc E. Bassy, Make Sense, Like This and much more. He has an album out that dropped Feb. 3rd called The Red Balloon Project. I highly recommend y'all check him out.
Click Link Below

The next artist I heard was Kyle aka Super Duper Kyle a young Cali artist.
I have listened to some of his new stuff and some of his older music as well, Including his newest song, It's Lit ft. IAMSU!, and older stuff like, Sex & Super Smash Bros.
All the music from him that I listened to was fun music that can change your mood from down to happy quickly.

Ewing Athletics 33 Hi "1985 Draft Lottery 30th Anniversary"

If you don't think these are ill then.... FUCK YOU
They are going to be released by Patrick Ewing to commemorate him being drafted #1 overall in 1985.  The year is stitched on the heel.  The icy white color way isn't just the design because it is very much icy but because it is suppose to symbolize the white envelopes they used to use in those drafts.

hmm the 1985 NBA draft took place June 18th.... but this years goes down down June 25th

RAMADON

My homie, RAMADON
the soundcloud above is for his latest track Call Us the Plug
I met him when he was going by OG Senseiii... and I am yet to meet anyone as dedicated to their passion as this leader of the youth out of the ATL.  We spoke slightly on the current rappers that represent ATL and without much explanation from his side I understood where he was coming from and how his vision was a unique wave created by a special mind of the youth.
He isn't a reproducer of the ATL sound that is surfing waves across the states but a harvester of the music that represents him and the youth he embodies.
Don't take the use of the word "youth" lightly.... might fuck around and underestimate the power of the culture that is being created here.... until you realize you were sleep and have to pretend that you ever talked down on it.

This is the cover art for his EP HAIL
"It's self explanatory, just me dropping hard flows."
you can only expect something as hard and merciless from the youth that is exposed to the corruption of the slums

The cover may remind you of what the setting for Terrorist Threats - Ab-Soul...... check out his cover of that song Murderous Laughter...... BUT don't give the tape a listen without giving Catchiiing Fiiire a chance...... listen to it cautiously you may not be ready for that.... the three i's is reminiscent of his name change... if anything that just shows that there is growth to be expected because the music will always be a representation of self not music without meaning.

cancelled tour dates earl

so i know this chick that works for the venue that Earl was supposed to perform at.... she told me he cancelled the dates for something she called "rehab"
it's crazy because i think we let our following habits let us think stuff is cool and without consequence... the shit he's talking about is real... i really don't know if it is but it seems a lot more valid then the flex tweets i read on the daily

I thought about when I heard Kanye West say "We all self-conscious I'm just the first to admit it,"  and how suddenly I was cool with being self-conscious.... I made some weird connection to this and the earl thing.... I can't figure it out probably because I'm face timing this girl and keeping her entertained is more important to me

Earl did tweet this

Song of the Day!
This album dropped the same day as Earl Sweatshirt which wasn't cool because I couldn't pick between the two at times... both are dope though.
So maybe I'm in deep with this chick that is proving to be faker then Kylie Jenner's lips and maybe I don't care but the song just sounds pretty great today.

It's been a while since I've posted.. life is taking a hold of me and it's moving fast so I'm trying to enjoy it as best I can.. Technology won't allow that so I've stayed away as much as possible... The homies and I haven't been up to much around campus.. we've been hoopin a lot,  boarding, and making the best of the time we have left together at school. Me and the homie Tyler will be departing our school and transferring so we're trying to live our time left at this school greatly. But we know that type of the friendships we've made with the people here are the types that last a lifetime. We can also connect with everyone through social media and cell phones. That's the thing with society today... you can never truly hide from everyone unless you unplug yourself from all technology. But will anyone in our generation really do that? People always want to go on adventures but get on their phones and miss the whole thing. Yes you want pictures because "pictures last forever" but if you don't stop to enjoy the moment the picture you took won't mean a damn thing. Enjoy every moment possible because you never know if your life will be cut short. Will you be happy with the life you've lived if you were to die tomorrow? If the answers no then why not change it today? A random post... no true idea behind it.. but gets you thinking.- Thunderstreak

Father x Maxo Kream

Last night a couple of us went out to see Father, Maxo Kream, Crit Life, KC$B, Dice Soho, and Team Next in concert at Eastdown Warehouse in Houston, Tx. I never heard any music from any of the artist except Maxo Kream and Father. Hearing Dice Soho for the first time, I found it to be "cool."He got the crowd "live" before the Dj cut his music off, but he keep going a cappella with the crowd singing along with him to his song handcuffs.
Dice Soho gets a thumbs up from me.
 - Polar Johnny

For the short amount of time that Maxo Kream was on the stage he "ripped that hoe." There was a short period that he was frustrated because the crowd was being lame ass fuck. But once the intro bass to Whitney Houston dropped the crowd went wild. Maxo Kream was obviously winded but he still showed a lot of energy his whole set, giving the crowd exactly what they were waiting for!

Father entered the stage out of nowhere. But no introduction was needed. Once the cellphone tone started the crowd knew exactly what was coming. The short mosh pit was very intense! Mostly because I was part of it, but thats besides the point. Father is a born entertainer. From the nonchalant way he poured water on one of the dancers (groupies) to the way he spent a whole song sitting down yet the crowd was still ecstatic! Maxo is clearly my favorite artist but Father's performance was so entertaining I HAVE to acknowledge his talents. Even when they had to preform to the few minor technical difficulties. In all the concert's crowd may have not been one of the biggest but the way everyone in the crowd could rap every verse showed that Houston character and charisma!
